Tips on Selling Your Pre-Loved Items

Buying and selling pre-loved items have been gaining traction in recent years. Bakit nga naman hindi, diba? Why pay mall prices for items when you have great options online?

Buying and selling pre-loved items have been gaining traction in recent years. Bakit nga naman hindi, diba? Why pay mall prices for items when you have great options online?

May mga bagay din naman na kahit hindi brand new, okay lang. It all boils down to practicality.

Fashion products like clothes and bags are the usual items we find in classifieds and for a good reason. People who are into clothes are often on the lookout for the latest collection; so those from the older season are often pushed back into the closet. It is then a good idea to take them out and see if anyone would be interested in keeping them.

Gadgets are also a hit online. If it’s your lucky day you may even come across sellers who are offering brand new items that they got for free (case in point, unwanted gifts); so they go sell it way below the retail price.

Now, what if you’re the seller who has finally been convinced that it is time to let those pre-loved and unused items go, how do you do it? How do you make online shoppers interested in buying from you?

Here are some tips:

  1. Make sure the item is presentable.
Kung damit ang items for sale, mas maigi kung plantsado. Kung gadgets naman, linisin nang maigiang item. This also reflects how good you have taken care of your pre-loved stuff.
  2. Take a good photo of the item.
Marami tayong nakikita sa Classifieds na nagpopost ng photos na galling sa Internet. This is not a good practice, and usually makes the post unreliable.

It is best to use a camera with a good resolution, and in a setting where the lighting is excellent. Kailangan malinaw para makilatis nang maigi ng prospective buyer, and include shots from all angles.

  3. Provide a complete description, including the product’s condition.
Take the time to describe the item. Make sure the model is accurate, and so is the condition. Be honest about all the details. Whether the item is used, slightly used, brand new. Be specific.
  4. Tag it with a reasonable price.
Sa pagpepresyo, i-consider ang halaga ng item noong binili mo ito, plus ‘yung halaga na nya ngayon as a brand new product, plus ‘yung level ng pagkakagamit mo rito. It also pays to consider how soon and how badly you want the item sold. Para sa mga taong kailangan na ng cash, they are most likely to sell their products at a very low price.
  5. Don’t forget your contact details.
Provide more than one contact channel, and make sure you are within reach all the time. Buyers appreciate a prompt response.
