Ooops! You promised yourself you’ll stay positive. Anu-ano nga ba ang mga pwedeng gawin while waiting for that ultimate call?

Let’s make sure first that we took care of the necessities like completing all your profiles in job sites and ensuring the contact details are updated. READ: https://souqpinoy.com/news/five-things-to-do-while-youre-still-waiting-for-a-company-to-call/

Now, mas marami ka pang ibang kapaki-pakinabang na pwedeng pagkaabalahan. Check out how to make good use of your time, and in doing so, make you feel good about yourself.

    1. Keep your skills updated.
Get to know the current trends and have your skills honed. Mag-aral ng iba’t-ibang computer techniques for drawings. So keep on reading relevant magazines and online articles that we call brain food. Read: https://souqpinoy.com/news/upgrade-your-digital-skills/

Sa pamamagitan nito, you keep your mind preoccupied with better things.  You also rehearse your brain for critical thinking which is a prelude to your upcoming job!

    1. Try a simple hobby to while away your time.
Baka hilig mo’ng mag-bake, try baking cupcakes to be sold to your close friends or sa mga kasamahan sa office ng mga flatmates mo. Kung magaling ka naman sa t-shirt printing, check how you can print on designs and sell sa circle of friends mo. Magaling ka bang magsulat, try blogging. Or try something new; you can venture into anything.

By these, you’re honing your talent and putting your energy into good use.

    1. Volunteer your services—it’s good for your soul.
Does your friend need an extra hand on weekends? Make yourself useful. A simple as volunteering to cook for dinner for the whole household will make the people around you glad. And you will end up with nothing, because you shared a part of you, magiging happy ka.

Subukan mo’ng mag-volunteer, maglingkod, magsilbi – you may not be compensated financially, but it will do magic for your soul.  It will amazingly bring your heart a smile.

    1. Catch up on your relationships—while you have the luxury of time.
Kailangan mo ring alagaan ang emotional aspect mo kaya habang naghihintay kang matawagan, why not regularly talk to your loved ones back home. Catch up with your barkada so that they can cheer you up. Siguradong nami-miss ka na nila and it would be a delight for them to hear your voice or see your face on the computer chatting with them.

Let’s make full use of the pause – ang paghihintay mong matawagan ay matatapos rin, makakahanap ka ng tarabaho soon. And when that time comes, mauunawaan nilang busy ka na sa work kaya habang maluwag pa ang oras mo, catch up on your relationships.

    1. Take a break—yes, a break.
Sobrang dami na naming nalista na pwede mong gawin while you’re mastering the art of waiting. But don’t ever forget to take a break. Spend “me time” generously but do not self-pity. Go to the beach or the nearby park para mas tipid and go people watching. Bring a book with you so you can read solo when you’re tired of cars passing by. It can also be as simple as sleeping the whole day.

Some HR strategists suggest submitting CVs Sunday-Wednesday only because Thursday being the last day of the work week is either too busy for deadlines or too close to the weekend kaya looking forward na ang mga empleyado sa pahinga kaya hindi nila mapapansin ang CV mo.

So, you’re now better armed with a list of to-dos’ habang hinihintay mong tawagan ka ng pinagdadasal mong kumpanya. And again, keep on applying, keep on hoping, continue searching at pasasaan ba, matatawagan ka na rin to report for your first day at work. Cheers, Kabayan!
